Registration
All coaches must register annually with USA Rugby, which includes a biennial background check. Coaches should register with each team they coach. There is no extra charge for registering more than once for a season.
Code of Conduct
All coaches are required to sign and abide by the Rugby Illinois Code of Conduct. This is included as a required form when registering annually as a coach or administrator.
Annual Education Requirements
All coaches must complete the First Aid in Rugby and Concussion Management courses annually prior to the summer AGM in July, if participating in the fall season, or prior to the winter AGM in December, if participating in the spring season.
Coaches should also review the USA Rugby Concussion policies and resources.
Usa Rugby Coaching Requirements
Level 100
Below are the certifications needed to get started as a Level 100 Coach. All are available at no extra cost as a registered member of USA Rugby.
Player Protection Package
Level 100
Sign in with your USA Rugby account.
If you do not have a World Rugby Account, follow the prompts to create an account.
Once you complete the World Rugby courses above, email your completion certificates to education@usarugby.org to have it associated to your profile.
Level 200 and 300
Every team participating in tackle rugby must have at least one Level 200 coach. The Level 200 certification includes a one day clinic. Level 300 certification includes a two day clinic and home study tasks.
All coaches must remain current on concussion management and player safety certifications as well as pass a biennial background check.
