The Girls Tornados just returned from a trip to New Jersey to play in the Rugby East Showcase Tournament June 8 and 9. Their first match against a combination of Doylestown (PA) and North Bay (MD) was hard fought but resulted in a 28-14 loss for the Tornados.
The Tornados showed great teamwork and support in their second match against a combination of Hudson Catholic (NJ) and Morris (NJ) for a 29-10 win.
The Tornados were defeated in their final match against 2024 Elite Girls Rugby League Champions, Aspetuck Valley (CT). The girls played some great rugby, got to know players from other teams in Illinois, and met players and coaches from many colleges in the Northeast.
